Yurky Cross Chartered Architects is a wholly owned subsidiary of Yurky Cross Ltd. John Yurky is the founding director, who first established the practice in 1976. Michael Cross joined in 1981 and became a partner in 1994. The practice changed its partnership status to a limited company in January 2003.
Yurky Cross moved to its present premises in 1984 and expanded into the second studio in 2004. The practice regards itself as multi-disciplinary, having experience in many sectors including:

The affordable housing sector presently accounts for a significant proportion of the practice's work. The scope of work undertaken in this sector extends from feasibility work through to construction phase.
